FAQ

  • How often should the water be changed in the ice bath?
We recommend changing the water every 4-6 weeks minimum if you are plunging every day for residential use. For commercial use, you may need to change water weekly based on the usage. To extend the time between water changes, ensure that you are rinsing off prior to entering the cold plunge. This is especially important if you are using a sauna or exercising. Going directly from sauna into the ice bath will require more water changes. For commercial use, it should be required that all clients rinse after sauna or exercise prior to entering the ice bath.
  • How long does it take for the water to cool down?
The water cooling speed depends on the cooling unit and outside temperature. In 30°C (86°F) the water temperature drops approximately 6°C (11°F) per hour.
  • Can the cooling unit be controlled wirelessly?
Yes, all our cooling units have wireless functions built in. Download the mobile app and turn on your plunge from distance.
  • What is the electrical requirement for a NV Ice & Japanese bath
All baths for North America require a 120V 20 Amp Dedicated GFCI outlet. All plunges for European Union require 220V with 16 Amp outlet
  • Can I use the cold plunge also as a hot tub?
Yes, all Nordic Vitality plunges can be heated up to 42°C (107° F)
  • What is water temperature range that the cooling unit provides?
With our cooling units you can set your prefered water temperature between 3°C-42°C (37° F-107°F)
  • When to avoid going to the cold plunge?
Cold plunge is strenuous, and should not be practiced by everyone. Here's who should avoid this modality: Those with cardiovascular disease or hypertension Those with Reynaud's syndrome Those who are pregnant Those with high blood pressure, heart disease, or other circulatory problems Those who have low body temperature at baseline Those who have pacemakers (unless they have medical clearance and/or direct medical supervision)
  • What are the lead times?
The lead times are currently 8-10 weeks. Transportation takes 1-2 weeks depending on location.
  • Can I manage the installation by myself?
NV baths are very easy to install and they come with step by step installation manual. Since the weight of the plunges ranges between 250-300kgs (551-661 lbs), we suggest that at least four men carry the plunge to the designated location. When you have flat solid ground, also a trolley can be used. The bath should be unpacked at the location where it's going to be used to avoid any potential damage to the product while moving it to the final location.
  • Where do we ship to?
We ship globally! For pricing please reach out to our sales team.
  • Can the Ice & Japanese bath be placed indoors or outdoors?
Your NV bath can be placed both inside and outside. Outdoors the unit should be placed into shade and out of direct weather. Placing the ice bath in the shade extends the product lifetime and honours the warranty. By placing your ice bath in direct sun, you will not be covered by warranty.
